There are many variables to consider when buying your backpack. There are many options out there, big and small, different materials. You do not want extra weight and you do not want to venture, when it's raining, that your packing will get soaked. If you are picking the right backpack at first, it can last for a lifetime.  We want to help you and share Naimakkas criteria for good quality when it comes to backpacks.

Make sure your backpack is made out of a material that is resistant to water. It doesn’t need to be 100% waterproof but we recommend that you buy a special tarp to protect your packing from downpour. A good rule is that you should be able to pour a jug of water over it without the insides getting wet.

An optimum bag must have multiple compartments so you can split your belongings into smaller sections. You might not want your shoes with your clothes to avoid them getting dirty. And it will also save your time to find what you’re looking for. We recommend that each compartment has two zippers, so that you can lock them together and avoid somebody putting something in your bag when you are flying.

The weight that you are carrying will be pushing down on your hip. Make sure you’ll wear a padded hip belt. It will support your hips in a comfortable way and cause less problems and strain. Padded shoulder straps have the same use and help you carrying more because of the pads that are putting less pressure on your shoulders. The last padded tip is for your back. A padded back is helping you distribute weight more evenly.

Now we gave you some standard tips, but what is the best size? That is a personal question for you. Our recommendation is that you buy your backpack in a professional outdoor store, such as Naturkompaniet, so that you can try how it feels on you back. Good luck, you will meet a lifetime partner.

My personal backpack

I found this company Atelier de l'armée a few years back now and I just fell in love with the bags they produce, less for outdoor adventure and more an everyday item for me, but a fantastically stunning bag none the less. My girlfriend knew I wanted one, so she got me one for my birthday, but to her dismay I had also gotten myself one for my birthday, so I ended up with two, and I'm not complaining.
